Forum of Lithuanian Social Scientists 2004

The first annual Forum of Lithuanian Social Scientists was held in Moletai, 80 km from Vilnius in May 2004. The conference brought together researchers from seven different universities and research institutes of Lithuania and provided an opportunity for networking and exchange of ideas. The participants from different disciplines such as sociology, political science, psychology, communication, sociolinguistics, and education studies discussed the problems of civil society in Lithuania, the relations between teacher and student in universities and other interdisciplinary questions.
The conference was supported by SCOUT Program and Lithuanian State Science and Studies Foundation.
The democratic atmosphere of the meeting and different social activities stimulated true and live academic discussions and motivated the participants for further academic cooperation. The tradition of the annual meetings of Lithuanian social scientists started by the Forum of Lithuanian Social Scientists 2004 will be continued next year.
